Week 7

This week I read a short story by Mira Martin-Parker called "Getting Rid of the Dogs". This is a story told from a daughter's perspective about her father. The young girl first tells about how her dad would drive off and abandon dogs in the middle of nowhere, leaving them half of a bag of food. The story then sections off into another portion telling about how the girl's dad got rid of the ducks, chicken and geese by driving to a park with a pond and letting them go, leaving the chickens and open bag of feed. The last section of the story uses the emotional E to explain how her father left her, leaving her with a pervert. The author does a good job using emotions and entertainment to lead up to the purpose of the story and getting her point across without having to say it.
