This week a read a short story by Matt Barton called "Five Minutes". Though very short, Barton told a terrifying story with a humorous approach. In the story, a man lay on a plank tied down with barbed wire and was told that he was going to die in five minutes. Watching the same thing happen to each of his three friends, the man knew he was about to die. However, all he could think about was how uncomfortable he was on that plank. The humor came into play when he put the focus on his comfort level and that he had to pee, instead of putting the focus on the fact that he was about to die. Barton used the entertainment E to tell his story, and did a good job in doing so because I really enjoyed this short story.
